Overview

The TotalRefresh tool automates SAP ABAP database refreshes in a straightforward and simple operation making it a perfect solution for the post-restore steps involved in an SAP ABAP database refresh. SAP platforms supported are AIX, HPUX, and SOLARIS on Oracle 9i/10g running WEBAS 620-700. The refresh process grows with the customer, and when special requirements exist, these steps can be integrated into the application.

Technical walk through

• Save data from source
  • Configure parameter file to determine which tables entries to save
  • Create variants that will be used in post processing (Step 3d)
  • Run export_tables program
• Restore database from Source
  • Utilize your own restore mechanism such as file system, brrestore or other methods
• Execute tr8 program
  • tr8 renames database
  • tr8 cleans up table entries as defined by customer needs. Sample
  • Manually execute Se06 and TMS configuration when prompted
  • tr8 runs a list of programs based on variants saved in 1.b
  • Post steps complete
  • Restart on any step is possible
